Slaughtering

Al-Rabeh’s collaboration with Tazij in meat slaughtering, storage and transportation ensures the highest quality and ethical standards. Tazij has its own large slaughtering and meat processing facility meeting quality and international food safety standards. Every product is prepared for storage and transportation keeping in view the highest food hygiene practices.

Transportation

First step be sure to consider what the delivery method is for the meat you receive. One option is to ship meat products either frozen or chilled. Focusing on frozen shipping as a first step can offer advantages in your favor. Freezing maintains meat retaining its original strength and freshness. Transporting frozen and chilled meats requires care, precision and speed. Al-Rabah can therefore count on the world’s largest reefer container fleet as well as a team of highly qualified experts in fresh and frozen cargo handling. Our global coverage and intermodal solutions allow us to provide end-to-end transportation solutions and ensure seamless cargo operations.

Doctors

A team of 2 experts veterinary doctors having experience and qualifications in animal nutrition are rendering their services for animal health. Vaccines are maintained on sight to meet health and safety protocols.

Animal Welfare

Animals are treated in ways that minimize fear, pain. stress and distress, they are provided with water, food, proper handling, health care, and an environment suitable for their care and use, with thoughtful consideration for their species-specific biology and behavior.
It is not allowed to feed the animal which is not suitable for its nature.
Special mixture composition with standard ratios of natural organic feed is provided. Nutrition dense diet is provided.

Slaughterer

Is fully trained in halal slaughter health, hygiene, sanitation and animal welfare.
Animals to be slaughtered are examined by a qualified veterinarian following good veterinary practices.
Animals that have completed 1/3 of pregnancy are not slaughtered.

Method of Slaughter

1. Animals are slaughtered by hand.
2. Animal are slaughtered on the left side facing the Qiblah.
3. Care is taken when laying down the animal to minimize its discomfort.
4. Animal slaughtered reciting tasmiyyah (Bismillah wa Allah Akbar) which means “In the name of Allah and Allah is the Greatest.”
5. Halal slaughtering begins with an incision in the neck just below or after the glottis (Adam’s apple) in short-necked animals and at the lower part near the chest in long-necked animals.
6. The slaughtering process will cut the trachea (Halkoum), esophagus (Mari) and carotid arteries and hepatic veins (Vadajan) to increase blood loss and death of the animal.
7. Each animal is slaughtered once. Sawing operation is carried out as long as necessary.
8. Bleeding is kept spontaneous and complete. Bleeding time shall be sufficient to ensure complete bleeding until death of the animal.
9. Spine neck is not cut before the animal is completely dead.
